Duty Manager

A Duty Manager at The World of Golf and Golf Village Leisure Parks plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the facility and providing exceptional customer service to all members and guests.

They will oversee daily operations, and uphold safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

Oversee day-to-day operations.

Ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and presentation.

Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate supplies are available.

Implement and enforce operational policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and customer experience.

Customer Service:

Meet and Greet members and guests, address inquiries, and resolve any issues or complaints in a timely and professional manner.

Provide guidance and assistance to members and guests regarding facility usage and other services offered.

Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere to enhance the overall customer experience.

Team member Management:

Supervise and motivate team members, including range attendants, receptionists, and maintenance personnel.

Schedule shifts, assign duties, and conduct performance evaluations to ensure optimal staffing levels and productivity.

Safety and Compliance:

Enforce safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Conduct regular inspections of equipment, facilities, and grounds to identify and address any maintenance or safety concerns.

Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices to continually improve safety standards and operational efficiency.

Administration and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of daily transactions, attendance, and incidents.

Prepare reports on key performance indicators, such as revenue, customer feedback, and staff productivity.

Assist with budget planning and financial management as directed by senior management.

Qualifications and Skills:

Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the golf/leisure, hospitality, or recreational industry.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with members and guests, team members, and management.

Strong leadership abilities, with a proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations and experience implementing safety procedures.

Proficiency in computer applications

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver packages to customers in Gauteng province and on other provinces when required.
  • Report all delivery related problems to senior staff.
  • Liase with Warehouse team to notify of any changes to daily routes.
  • Pick required stock as per description and quantities.
  • Pack stock into the boxes or flyer bags to prepare for shipping or deliveries.
  • Able to create Waybills on Courier sites.
  • Liase with courier companies – (arranging collections and deliveries, queries)
  • Attach documents to parcels for shipping (Waybill, delivery note, picklist, invoice etc)
  • Scan shipments documents to Store supervisor and manager.
  • Inspect received shipments.
  • Receive and dispatch shipments.
  • Pack stock in their respective cupboards.
  • Filing (Manifests, Signed Delivery Notes, Waybills, Collection/Delivery Register)
  • Perform Stock count (counting and confirming inventory)
  • File stock count sheets.
  • Housekeeping

Qualifications:

  • Matric
  • Stock Keeping and Stock Control certificate will be advantage.
  • Drivers Licence Code 8 or 10.
  • Proven experience working in a warehousing, manufacturing, or production.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Familiarity with email, spreadsheets, word, and inventory will be helpful.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects.
