Role Overview
We’re hiring a Category Manager to lead the strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives for key spend categories including fuel, fleet, and utilities. This role is responsible for shaping procurement strategies, managing supplier performance, and delivering measurable value across the supply chain. You’ll also drive operational change and help build a high-performing procurement function.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage strategic procurement plans for assigned categories.
- Lead contract negotiations and ensure alignment with value and service expectations.
- Analyse internal demand and market conditions to inform sourcing strategies.
- Oversee the full procurement cycle from sourcing to supplier onboarding and contract execution.
- Foster collaborative supplier relationships to drive service delivery and innovation.
- Track supplier performance and enforce contract compliance. Category Manager
- Support internal teams through change management and procurement transformation.
- Monitor risks related to supply continuity and ensure proactive mitigation.
Market & Performance Analysis
- Regularly review performance against KPIs and service agreements.
- Provide insights through market research and supplier capability assessments.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related discipline (required).
- Postgraduate qualification (e.g. MBA) is a plus.
- 6–10 years’ procurement experience in large organisations, including 3–5 years in management.
- Experience in public sector procurement and working knowledge of PFMA and PPPFA regulations.
- MCIPS or equivalent certification is preferred.
