Ensure comprehensive customer service in the store. Loading and merchandising of stock, shelf price labeling, and housekeeping within designated areas of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 qualification or a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area.
  • Accurate basic calculation skills.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and Public Holidays.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.

Job Description

Customer Service Responsibilities:

  • Acknowledge all Customers and assess their needs.
  • Provide accurate advice to Customers regarding products.
  • Assist Customers with any product-related queries.
  • Address Customer complaints in a timely manner.
  • Suggest additional sales opportunities, such as complementary products (e.g., paint and paint brushes, thinners).
  • Ensure efficient Customer service by loading purchases promptly.
  • Handle Customer purchases with care to avoid damage to goods or the Customer’s vehicle.
  • Inform Customers about additional services offered, including:
    • Delivery service/bulk deposits
    • Glass Cutting
    • Plan reading
    • Credit programs
    • Special orders
    • Trusses
    • Distant ordering
    • VIC Customer Programme
  • Maintain certification in Product Knowledge.
  • Be readily available in the assigned aisle to assist Customers.

In housekeeping

make sure your area is obstacle-free, and merchandise is promptly arranged after delivery. Ensure customers can move in and out of the aisle easily to prevent any inconvenience. 

Keep shelf prices correctly labeled in your responsibility area. Complete the checklist, especially focusing on the canteen and toilet/shower areas during your shift for a clean and organized space.

Safety (OHSA) Requirements

Safety (OHSA) compliance (e.g., use of safety gear, ensuring Customer, and staff safety) within area of responsibility. Ensure area of responsibility (racking and bulk) stock merchandised safe to Customers and Colleagues to move safely within the Store. Report any discrepancies to the Store Manager

Loss Prevention and Security

Identify any gaps in the displays, investigate causes and report any concerns to management. Be aware of suspicious behaviours or people and report any suspicions to management product to be loaded for a Customer without proof of purchase or required documentation
